To all Hinckley runners taking on a spring marathon in the next few weeks in the UK and overseas!
The LRRL Winter League season for 2015/2016 came to an end this weekend with Desford 6. It was nice to see new member Stuart Mayfield taking on his first league race as well as Ian Sylvester and Peter Abrahamson join us again after a break from league racing. All in all we had a total of 10 ladies and 14 men competing on the day.
Hinckley runners were mostly positive about their performances on the day, achieving quite a few PBs on what is for some the last race before taking on a spring marathon, no less!
Male runner of the day was awarded to Gordon Landsburgh and female runner of the day was awarded to Charlotte Sinclair. Well done!
It was a warm and sunny Sunday that saw the last of the cross country races for the 2015/2016 season taking place at Foremark Reservoir and its beautiful surroundings. The course was not as muddy as some of the other courses of the season but it did not disappoint with its tough hills!
For this last race, we had a team of 8 men and a team of 5 ladies competing. Helen Wilebore was awarded female runner of the day and Ben Masser male runner of the day.
XC 2015/2016 Results
The mens team finished 7th in league 1.
The ladies team finished 2nd in league 2.
The combined team finished 5th in league 1.
Well done to everyone who took part in this year’s cross country, be it once or every race. We hope you will join us again when the season starts in October and no doubt you will have inspired others to give the cross country a go with all your achievements this year!
Once again Kibworth 6 did not disappoint and put everyone to the test when faced with “the hills”. We had 13 male runners and 8 female runners out on this tough course.
Nick Moore and Elizabeth Lees were awarded respectively male runner of the day and female runner of the day for their tenacity and performances on the day. Well done!
Stilton 7 counted a good number of Hinckley runners considering that quite a few other Hinckley runners decided to take part in the Coventry half marathon to get an idea about how their marathon training was progressing. Needless to say there were a lot of PBs and happy runners after both races!
We had 10 male and 10 female Hinckley runners at Stilton 7. Male runner of the day was awarded to Joe Langham and female runner of the day was awarded to Erica Fisher. Well done!
This was a great and windy day for the Hinckley cross country located in Ullesthorpe this year. A big thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success : organisers, marshalls and runners.
We had 12 men running in total and 5 ladies. Spurred on by all the support, the Hinckley men finished 3rd in league 1 and the Hinckley ladies finished 1st in league 2. This meant that the combined team finished 1st in league 1. Male runner of the day was awarded to Matt Johnson and Female runner of the day was awarded to Sarah Garford. Well done!
