Thursday Routes – 25 Jul

Despite the blazing sunshine I’ve switched us to a winter route this week. This is to keep us fairly local and to provide runners plenty of options to cut short as it’s going to be a warm one β˜€οΈ
Ref W19
Long: 9.2 miles
Short: 6.6 miles
Care point: After mile 4 turn right into footpath after the church
6:20pm meet for a 6:30pm departure from the Leisure Centre.
See you there πŸ™‚

Thursday Routes – 13 Jun

I thought about posting a Winter route looking at the forecast!! But we’ve got a Summer route that sticks to the roads rather than venturing across the common or along the canal towpaths!

S10
Long: 8.6 miles
Short: 6.3 miles
Maybe waterproofs and wellies will be needed!!
Hope to see you there…6.20pm meet for a 6.30pm departure from Hinckley Leisure Centre (meet outside if it is fine, or inside by the reception desk if it is wet!)

Thursday Routes – 23 May

Road Run Option:

Lots to choose from this week…Nick has posted a β€˜trail’ route but for those who prefer a slightly longer and predominantly road route:
Ref S24
8.7 miles but you can add more if you wish on the return through Burbage to Hinckley.
See you there πŸ™‚

Penny

Trail Run Option:

I will be doing an off-road run taking in some of Burbage Common and the footpaths beyond. The distance will be approx. 6.5 miles, most of which on trails (some gravel, some grass, some packed earth).
All are welcome to join me. I expect to average about 9 to 10 min/mile, and we will stop and regroup regularly so no-one left behind. The aim is to enjoy and explore our local countryside and not worry about pace.
Road shoes or trails shoes will be fine as the ground should be quite firm. (But don’t expect them to stay clean..)
I deliberately haven’t posted a route map – you will have to follow me πŸ™‚ .

Nick

Both options meet as usual Leisure Centre, 6.20pm for 6.30pm departure.

Thursday Routes – 16 May

Route: S14

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, our club are offering a ‘run and revise’ session for our local students. For this reason the route is ‘close to home’ and the short / long routes follow the same route.
PLEASE NOTE WE ARE RUNNING THE ROUTE THE OPPOSITE WAY ROUND TO THE ARROWS ON THE ROUTE MAP..
…this means that if any students (wanting a shorter route) join us for a revision break, they can turn left up Ashby Rd back to the leisure centre making it about 3 miles. the rest of us will continue on the route.
For the longer route, you will do two (or three!) laps of the ‘big wood’ (1.1 miles per lap) and then continue with the route as shown back the the leisure centre.
This should be a good social run for us all.., and give us chance to run together.
I hope that you will be able to join us to support this cause and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow – 6.20-pm meet for a 6.30pm departure from the Leisure Centre.
